The exterior uses 28 gauge galvanized steel that resists corrosion and can stand up to weather, heat, and seasonal changes. The screen mesh is hinged for easy cleaning and to prevent debris buildup while allowing steady airflow through the vent opening. A spring loaded backdraft damper opens to exhaust when air is moving out and seals when closed to minimize backflow of cold air, moisture, or drafts from outside. A foam gasket around the flange reduces noise and helps create a tight seal against the wall. Installation is straightforward: the flange provides 4 pre-drilled holes and the kit includes screws for secure mounting, plus aluminum foil tape to fix and seal the duct connection for maximum ventilation efficiency.
