## Description

The Tier1 Salt-Free Descaler Water Conditioning System will protect your home from sediment and scale buildup using TAC scale prevention media. Hard water causes scale to build up in your homes plumbing and appliances causing them to wear out more quickly. Pipes clogged with dirt and scale can lose water pressure over time, and water heaters full of scale are extremely inefficient because the scale blocks the heat from getting to the water making the water heater run more often to keep the water hot. It is important to note that while a Salt-Free Descaler / Water Condition can be used as a Softener Alternative it will not soften water or remove the minerals that cause hard water. However, unlike a water softener, TAC conditioned water is able to dissolve away existing scale from your plumbing, doesn't require salt, and doesn't require regenerations. Upflow systems are extremely reliable and low maintenance, because the system uses a simple In/Out head and there are no moving parts to break. As long as incoming water is kept within the system parameters the filter will function until media exhaustion, at which time the media can be replaced without having to throw away the system. Replacement media costs a fraction of the price of a new system making upflow systems even more cost effective in the long run.
