Tekton center punches can be used to mark a center point. These punches are machined to precise tolerances and are designed to mark an exact starting spot for drilling on the workpiece. The punches have a sharp point and a tapered shaft. Each punch is individually heat treated to harden and strengthen the tip while maintaining the soft temper of the striking end. The striking end absorbs hammer blows without chipping. Tekton center punches are made from 5160 high carbon steel and finished with a dry, rust-preventative coating. They're also marked with a high-visibility laser marking.
