The filtration system captures fine dust and traps particles such as mold, fine powders and cool fireplace ash. The replacement wet dry vacuum filter can be washed and, if dried properly, reused. Changing shop vac filters often is strongly recommended to increase the vac's performance and to help extend shop vacuum life as it protects the motor from harmful dust and debris. The fine dust filter fits RIDGID wet dry shop vacs 3 gal. to 4.5 gal. along with the RIDGID Ash and Grilling Vacuum (HDAV0500) and should only be used for dry pickups.
