This is a left hand wind torsion spring. In recent years most doors have been supplied with torsion springs located directly above the garage door and are mounted to the header. This is a left hand wind and replacement will require the use of 2 winding rods, sold separately. To wind the torsion spring correctly you will need a clear understanding of wire size and handing. It is best to replace both springs at the same time.
