## Description

The Powermatic, 209BHH, PM1-478, 20 in. planer with 230-Volt, 1 PH, power is built for shops that need increased capacity and cutting strength. Driven by a 5 HP motor, this machine provides the power required to surface wide panels and dense hardwoods with confidence. Its 20- inch cutting width and 8 in. maximum thickness capacity allow larger stock to be processed efficiently. The four row helical cutterhead features 68 four-sided inserts spinning at 5200 RPM to deliver a smooth finish with reduced tear out and noise, and inserts are easily accessed for rotation or replacement to minimize downtime. A built-in digital readout ensures precise thickness control, while dual feed speeds of 16 and 28 FPM provide flexibility for both aggressive stock removal and fine finishing. Heavy-duty cast-iron tables and a full 51-1/2 in. table surface offer exceptional stability when handling larger workpieces. A 4 in. dust port supports efficient chip collection with a 900 CFM requirement, and the upgraded caster locking and braking system, along with an oversized emergency stop, reinforces mobility and safety in the shop.
