The Makita-built brushless motor along with 40V max XGT battery combine to deliver powerful grinding and up to 60% faster cutting speed than previous models.The X-LOCK quick change system allows for tool-free wheel changes with simple snap-on mounting and pull release lever for up to 5-times faster accessory changes. It is ideal for grinding and cutting a wide range of materials including tile, concrete, pipe, conduit, and more.The GAG11M1 is powered by a Makita-built brushless motor for longer run time, increased power and speed, and longer tool life. The Brushless Motor eliminates carbon brushes, enabling the motor to run cooler and more efficiently for longer life. Active Feedback-sensing Technology (AFT) turns the motor off if rotation speed suddenly slows or the wheel is forced to a stop.The Angle Grinder features an electronic current limiter that helps protect the motor from overload in high torque applications, a variable speed control dial that allows for RPM adjustment (3,000-8,500) to match the speed to the application and a slide-style switch with lock-on for operator convenience.
