The treads have a beautiful consistent oak surface which can be stained or varnished to compliment your decor. The reversible riser gives you the choice between veneer or finished white paint. This kit can be used as is for a closed stringer staircase (ends of treads are hidden by stringers). For an open stringer staircase, use simple tread bullnose cap to easily finish off any exposed edges.
