For your peace of mind, this Fireplace is made from flame-retardant materials, equipped with flameout protection (accidental blowout safety shut-off), tip-over safety shut-off, and low-oxygen safety shut-off. When connecting to a 20 LB propane tank; it is very important to note that the tank must be placed outside; propane hose and accessories are available as a separate purchase.
