With home security in mind, the Egg door handle accepts a key on one side of the lock and operates by a turn-button knob on the other side. With an oval shape and a matte black finish, this door knob features versatility in style and design that coordinates well with modern, traditional, and rustic styles alike. Designed for left or right-hand doors, this door knob fits the two most common backsets in the U.S. (2-3/4 in. and 2-3/8 in.). The durable 2-way latch has a 1/2 in. latch bolt plated in nickel and does not budge once in place. Use this locking knob on standard 1-3/8 in. and 1-3/4 in. thick doors. This lock has a 1 in. by 2-1/4 in. radius corner faceplate and features a 5-pin cylinder for your security. If you are preparing your door for installation, the cross bore should be 2-1/8 in. in diameter and the edge bore should be 1 in. in diameter.
